Ummmm...just realized that if you boil enough onion with rice then it will not boil over. How clever is that!

Yep. Sounds about right! :)

Ten out of ten for me, actually. Kinda scary. I had to think about number eight and the word "conservative." It has many different meanings. I take it to mean what Gustave Flaubert said: “Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work.” I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. I've always been creative, I do think I was born with it. I cannot remember a time when I didn't paint or write or played music or performed in one way or another. But creativity is something you have to nurture. It's a muscle that needs workout. The more you use it, the better it works. It also helps to be creative in many different fields. Me, myself and I write, paint, compose, cook, garden, invent useless things that will never see the light of day, build stuff -- anything, really, that I encounter on daily basis. It's all part of a larger creative endeavor that is inevitably how I have to live my life. I don't really have a say in the matter. I once knew someone who could pronounce Csikszentmihalyi. It's actually a nice name when said correctly.

Ten for ten as well. Nice to know, my dichotomy filled life is shared by others.

I guess I'm weird, but everything except for number 10 is spot on. I'm kinda level when it comes to emotions, which is why I gravitate to film, writing, and directing to explore that more.
Adaddinsane at 2011-12-02 03:14:08:
At the risk of being disingenuous: a creative person is - like - er - someone who creates stuff. Who needs pop-psych labels?
Colm Field at 2011-12-02 06:33:23:
Have to agree with Adaddinsane here - these are ten catch-all traits that could be applied to anybody. Surely the only mark of a 'creative personality' is a wish to create, and while the genius persona ascribed to Byron and Mozart has since been adopted by thousands of fey types kicking through leaves with a daisy chain and a lute, it's easily forgotten that Philip Larkin was proudly staid and Hillary Mantel quite easily discusses her books without bursting into tears.
Sojourner at 2011-12-02 11:10:50:
I could also add: 11. Creative people are hungry except when they're full. 12. Creative people are good except when they're bad. 13. Creative people are alive except when they're dead. Count me in!

haha, that article is as non-committal as a horoscope. More so! Someone got money for that article? People who write about the creative personality are: 1) Vague and yet succinct 2) Inclined to make niche stereotypes and broad generalisations 2) Have noses, ears, and often earlobes, but this isn't always the case...

Pretty darn spot on...
