pliny, you have been on a roll with your ideas arising from this series. Funny thing is, my wife and I spent nearly 6 years trying to have our second child (we fell into a category known as "secondary infertility"), and I had to get tested at a place in Westwood called the California Cryobank. Evidently they place these type of facilities within walking distance of major universities because young men are especially virile and have high motility rates, plus the education factor. I remember flipping through this list they provided of anonymous sperm donors with all sorts of data [race, age, height, weight, education]. In fact, my wife's brother was in a doctoral program with a guy who got $150 a 'deposit' [which he did twice a week] because of his high desirable including a 160+ I.Q. because many families wanted 'genius' sperm hoping to create 'genius' children. So you can totally imagine a barely surviving Las Vegas stripper determined to have a child and give that child benefits she never had including super intelligence. Great contrast between physical genius and mental genius.

I just wanted to express thanks for this series as I believe it provides an invaluable set of exercises. If I'm fortunate enough to break into the biz as a writer, the ability to quickly generate a logline from someone else's idea is a key skill I'll need to develop. If my loglines are good enough to receive comment here, then I figure I'm on the right track. You're absolutely right about how desirable nerdy types are with sperm banks (an unfortunate but delicious real-world irony, imho). Note that the pilot for Big Band Theory opens with Sheldon and Leonard in a sperm bank.
