I thought Drag Me to Hell was straight horror?

Reviews seem to be mixed on that point. Check out the Wikipedia page for the movie: Reviews have also received the movie as a comedy horror in a more classic Raimi vein. Vic Holtreman of Screenrant claims the film is a long-awaited movie that combines both genres as Army of Darkness had done. Noemi Minaya-Mende of Spinnaker Online likens the movie to "traditional dark comedy horror". A reviewer at UGO Networks says that the movie is very much more a comedy than horror and that this is in keeping with Raimi not having produced a "true horror" since he started.

I wish we had a draft that was closer to the final product. A quick glance reveals some key differences -- the movie's whiz-bang opening scene; elimination of an unnecessary character (Ellen). But DMTH as a film is a great pick for screenwriting analysis.

Joe, we looked all over for a later draft, this is the best we could find. And it's also a good educational experience to compare and contrast earlier drafts to the movie, like we did with Gladiator and Bridesmaids.

Scott do you think we could one day have a look at the cult horror movie "House"?

Natalie, I'm happy to read and analyze any movie script where there is enough interest or consensus on the part of GITS readers. That assumes, of course, if there continues to be sustained involvement of others in this analysis series. Cult movies could be an interesting area to mind. Finally we would need to have the screenplay available on some sort of public script site a la myPDFscripts.com. But yes, happy to do that.

Righto I'll go out and drum up support (do these have to be real people?). I'm actually trying to find a copy but so far I'm not getting anywhere.
