The Inklings...I read a letter at Wheaton College in Chicago (there's a magnificent display of CS lewis stuff there...the actual wardrobe, his pipe, chewed ink pen, his desk, and gobs of letters) from JRR that said if not for Clives' encouragement, he would never have exposed his stories to the public. "Nothing is yet in its present form."
