Great character indeed. In fact, so much so that it inspired this parody of Fight Club my friends did back in the day. Enjoy! Film Club http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWmi8eF9om0

Shame shame Scott. The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club!

I happen to be reading the book for the first time right now. It's great. Took a couple of chapters to get into (the beginning is, like the movie, more about the support group addiction) but once the Fight Club is formed, it starts to cook.

Stunned by this movie, so fresh and unexpected. And the ending, glorious, possibly best movie ending ever (and suddenly dinner and a movie seems like a very boring date). Book author interesting, Chuck Palahniuk didn't start writing fiction until mid 30s, and his thought re Fight Club, an updated Great Gastby. He ignored reviews except one: "Laura Miller of Salon.com wrote a scathing review of Diary, saying that Palahniuk's books "traffic in the half-baked nihilism of a stoned high school student who has just discovered Nietzsche and Nine Inch Nails" and that "everything even remotely clever in them has been done before and better by someone else".[22]In response, Palahniuk (who had never responded to a review before) sent an angry e-mail to Salon's Letters section. Palahniuk observed "Until you can create something that captivates people, I'd invite you to just shut up. It's easy to attack and destroy an act of creation. It's a lot more difficult to perform one."[23]" (wikipedia page here). Director David Fincher and script scribe Jim Uhls were such a great fit with the project. I want another Fight Club. And that's the last I'll talk about it :-)
