I agree. This mini-movie is a beautiful life lived between two people who loved each other. Film makers did an incredible job. Each image and sequence is so poignant and moves their story forward. Damn, get another Kleenex. It gets me every time I see it.

I pulled up the script the other day. From the script: They run up a hillside together. They lie side by side on a picnic blanket. She describes the clouds. He watches as a cloud transforms into a turtle. Carl closes his eyes and smiles. He’s lucky to be with her. I love that the last line of that is what we're told not to do. It tells. But it does so in such a perfect way that telling becomes showing. Brilliant.

I actually didn't watch the clip because i'm at work and i didn't want to start crying...i'm serious.

@ 1 minute 28 secs, one of the greatest transitions in cinema. Do you think you could pull that off in live action? I'm not sure you could.

Tissues, lots of tissues. First one when Carl handed Ellie box in front yard. Wahhhh. Stunned how emotive this all was, the weaving of universal moments we all immediately understand, so masterfully done. First time I saw entire sequence too (though read script, only saw clips of opening on youtube, at home we skip the sad openings, like Nemo's mom dying), so a real pleasure to see whole thing. Damn, those folks are talented.

Pure genius.
