Loved the script (as did HW when it was passed around town.) But was not a fan of the movie. Is it just me? Loved this scene when I read it. But they played it for melodrama and tears instead of bewilderment.

I liked the movie up until the end. --PROBABLY SPOILERS-- I don't think the end worked, for all the reasons stated in this monologue, lol. “The hero dies, but the story lives on forever.” The whole movie was building to this. Let it happen. Instead, the actual ending felt like a cop-out to me. I understood all the reasoning for saving him. The setup and payoff worked. But it felt arbitrary. A very Deus Ex Machina quality to it. There was something beautiful about a character knowingly accepting his fate. I felt the ending robbed Harold of his sacrifice.
