There should be a password allotted to continue to use this site -- given to those that read Scott's post -- then heed his words. My first was complete and I just HAD to get it out there without a single page completed for the next story. When I finally got a read request... then a pass, I was asked for more material -- I had squat. He liked the writing -- door was open -- but there was nothing to offer. Squat. Bitten in the ass by procrastination and my hard head. I've posted this two or three other times on other GITS threads so I will not bore you with the details. But folks really need to be prepared -- don't take this lightly because if you do... you WILL get that read request and a follow-up for more material... And without squat... you get squat. Then of course you will come here and post about just like I did... Trust me... it's ain't much fun.

Courtney: Here's what I wish for you. Another script. And then my wish for you? Another script. Fill up your holster with lots of 'bullets'. And every time we write a script, we learn more about the craft and ourselves as writers. For your lessons well-learned, a special gust of creative juju your way.

I recently gained representation based on the only script I had -- which was/is a spec TV pilot. of course the very next question my reps asked me was, "what else do you have?" i pitched them the feature spec i'm working on now, and boy am i glad i had that pretty well thought-out.

@Alex: This is why whenever someone says to me, "I just finished my first spec script. What should I do now," I say, "Write another one." It's also why I'm such a stickler for writers coming up with story ideas. Note: I am already storing up story ideas for the third annual A Story Idea Each Day for a Month series that will run once again in April. Congrats, Alex, on getting repped.
