I see this as a comedy with a take on _The Shining_ and that Karen has an invisible friend named Tilda living in her mouth. The problem is, Tilda speaks 100% of the time and swears like a sailor - always getting Karen into trouble. Karen comes to believe Tilda is a ventriloquist and is forced to find a way to make a break from her. But what's really going on is Karen has some social issues and feels the only way she can express herself is by talking in an Irish accent - so it's really all in her head.

Perhaps not some main character whom depends on his voice to achieve his objectives due to a quality from his voice. Like a radio DJ. But someone whom must use his voice, even if it has no quality at all. But after the oral surgery his voice gains a quality which starts to put his work in doubt. WWII. A french general inspires the army until he gets shot in the mandible. After surgery he is able to speak again, but awkwardly his speeches come out with a strong german accent. Now he can't inspire his troops and must look for a way to do it. USA. Cold war. A patriot film director does a throat surgery to recover from the cigarette damages he obtained along his life. After the procedure, he gains a russian accent, raising suspicion about his political alignments, placing him close to the mccarthian black list.

Well, not *you* specifically Huqleberry, but more the Royal You. And I just threw this out as a joke, but it actually would be interesting to see what the GITS readers would do with a single-night 2-3 page script limit and a story concept. It would be like one of Chuck Wendig's flash fiction challenges.. I think there would be many interesting stories...along with the requisite wailing and gnashing of teeth...

Right before heading on the campaign trial during a re-election year, a staunch conversative politician undergoes some minor dental surgery but after waking up, finds himself with an effeminate and sometimes ultra-flamboyant alter ego that comes and goes.
