Thanks for posting that. I think it's interesting how he puts structure up there above all else, at least in the beginning. That's definitely important, but I also recall Spielberg's love of Tone when it comes to elevating a script to a professional, "produceable" level. I think that was on-target too. I also thought it was cool how Carpenter said writing could be "painful." It can be sometimes.
