LOVE this. I write because once I started, I couldn't stop. I write because the flow of language illuminates the humor and hope in the day to day, celebrates the gift of all the possibility in life. As Robert Grudin says, ""Speak of literary art as teaching, delighting, celebrating, communicating, preserving, convincing. But think of it also as shy gift giving, the shy gift-giving of intensely sociable people."

Carla: "Once I started, I couldn't stop." I love that. And may the Muses remain with you and your writing!

I like to write because that way I'm not the only one who has to hear the voices. Now I can force friends and family to hear them too! I'm also a performer at heart, so anything I can do to entertain ANYONE is something enjoyable to me.
I feel like there's also a sense of excitement akin to an easter egg hunt. It's fun to create and place all of these tiny details for people to find and have their own AHA moments. And of course it's just an enjoyable thing to do on its own.

Great series idea, Scott. Why do I write? I choose to believe the images and voices in my head are gifts to be shared, not synaptic damage from falling off my bike one too many times... and haven't gotten the billion dollar offer, yet. ;)
