Will RSS be redirected, also?
Scott at 2011-09-02 13:07:21:
I have checked with Dino and he is almost positive RSS is set to work.

Those who follow the site via Google Friends Connect, that should be smooth sailing as the plug-in is already installed at the new site.

Will the GITS community have access to any of the actual Black List scripts for discussions and analysis?
Scott at 2011-09-02 13:58:09:
Due to legal considerations, I can not imagine us being able to do that with scripts that have been sold or are under option. Companies, rightfully so, do not want scripts they have in development circulated online, nor do writers.

On the other hand, if there is a Black List script that has not been optioned or purchased, admittedly an unlikely occurrence as just being on The Black List is often enough cause for a script to get set up, perhaps with the approval of the writer (and producer if the project has one attached), we could read and analyze that script.

The whole online script thing went through a massive paradigm shifts in 2010 with this lawsuit. Even though what we are doing with the upcoming GITS Script Reading and Analysis Series is strictly for educational purposes and involves only scripts from movies that have already been produced, I could only sign onto to it by directing people to another site (myPDFscripts) which host the scripts.

Will there be a GITS Black List?

KIDDING!
Nick Oleksiw at 2011-09-02 21:15:33:
I saw that on the new left column, there will be 'Personal Information'.

Does this apply to you, Scott? or will members be able to create their own GITS profiles?

Sorry if covered already...
Scott at 2011-09-02 22:24:53:
@Nick: I meant info about me, SMC, ebooks, books, etc.

A place for GITS followers to post person info? That's an interesting idea. I'll think about that.

Howdy!

With the move to the new site, will you be able to show a prominent link to OTTfilms?
DiogoF. at 2011-09-03 03:07:03:
How about some flash fiction or some script-frenzied challenge to stimulate us to bring out those stories, to stick up to those schedules ... ? Not some prize-winning motivation but more like a community pinched urge to get it done, knowing everybody is trying to do the same, and then maybe get those two-line synopsis a little link, like the GITS readers catalog or something...
DiogoF. at 2011-09-03 03:13:24:
I forgot to add, that would also provide the community's skills with a little more exposure.
Scott at 2011-09-03 10:09:41:
Sean: If you guys can figure out a logo with embedded link that I can plug into WordPress, I'd be happy to include that on the new site.
Scott at 2011-09-03 10:18:39:
DiogoF: In the past, I have contemplated a variety of ways to engender writing in the form of a contest or what-not. The thing is, I just don't have time to act as judge and jury, nor do I want to put myself in that position. Then the default thinking goes to, "Well, try to find some other folks in the GITS community to handle that," but how to do that in a way that's fair or whatever. And I immediately get lost in the process, which nukes the impulse for the idea.

So if we can all brainstorm a way to do flash fiction or script 'frenzy', one that works within the context of what GITS is, in theory I'm down with that. But due to the above-mentioned reasons, the energy for it is going to have to come from the GITS community.

I may be jumping the gun as I've noticed things changing from day to day -- But will there be a a way, as with the former page, to follow comments via e-mail or am I overlooking the option?
Courtney Chambers at 2011-09-08 16:18:52:
@Scott: Hmmm... I assume Google Friends -- I sign-in via G-Mail u/p -- my "beautiful" mug shows on the top right of the page. When I posted a comment on the former page I had the option to tick a box that gave me the option to receive e-mail updates on that particular thread. Not seeing an option for that here -- I'm sure I'm overlooking something but for the life of me I can't figure out how to option for updates.
