Man oh man. This guy really was one of the most eloquent writers that ever spoke. Every word out of his mouth is solid gold. I can't tell if he was conscious of it or not but every interview that I've heard him in sounds like a Shakespearean monologue and I mean that in a good way. Coincidentally I was flipping through the new issue of Creative Screenwriting and I stumbled upon an ad for "The Rod Serling Conference" at Ithaca College! Not the Twilight Zone Conference mind you but the ROD SERLING conference. The man himself is now an institution. That is impressive

Before a new writer strikes one key on their laptop they should be required to watch that clip.

I wish I had.

We worry about every cotton-pickin' thing sometimes that we forget the most important thing... the story.

I was guilty of spending hours on blogs worrying about format when I should have been writing.

Write the story -- worry about the rest later.

In addition more daily clips this week, more rare Serling video this Sunday. I concur: Articulate, inspirational. It's why I decided to reprise this series.

Searched previous posts and I think I caught most of them tonight -- gems! Keep 'em coming.

Never knew much about Serling other than Twilight Zone.

Didn't seem like he was thrown in a room "forced" to go through an interview. Seemed sincerely interested in the group's thoughts and input -- I like that.

On a side note --

Cracks me up that ashtrays were scattered throughout the room and taken full advantage of!

Kept waiting for Serling to pull from a glass full of scotch on the rocks.

And the Mike Wallace interview -- Wallace lights a smoke during the intro -- flings the spent match to the ground -- takes a drag just before he begins.

Reminds me of Tom Snyder's Tomorrow Show -- without the laugh of course.
