hey, not sure if you posted this yet, but the author of the book got rejected 60 times on this and kept re-writing and re-writing it for 3 and half years (5 years total of writing) before an agent finally picked it up. there was an interesting article last week about it:

Hollywood's perception that women over 35 are difficult is getting in the way of them realizing that what women are really looking for is a great story about strong women making real connections. Is that a little harder to create than a 'splosion-fest? Perhaps, but it's also much cheaper.

I mean, 'splosion-fests are fun, but they're easy to find. A good story, especially one with a strong and believable female lead, is much more rare therefore more valuable.

Really, you'd think that Hollywood execs had never actually had a conversation with a real woman.
