Thriller to add to list, available at mypdfscripts, Red by Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber.

Another thriller that's also fun and available at mypdfscripts, Source Code by Ben Ripley.

I think that it's a real big shame that Crazy, Stupid, Love isn't there. But Bridesmaids, Easy A or Love Actually would do.

Also, I second In the Loop.

I've already read some of those on the list; yet, I'll read them again.

I would suggest the following:

THRILLER
- The Sixth Sense by M. Night Shyamalan [http://www.mypdfscripts.com/screenplays/the-sixth-sense]

- Phone Booth by Larry Cohen (directed by Joel Schumacher) http://[www.mypdfscripts.com/screenplays/phone-booth]

DRAMA
- Thelma & Louise by Callie Khouri (Lebanese like me) WOULD READ IT AGAIN and AGAIN [http://www.mypdfscripts.com/screenplays/thelma-louise]

- 3:10 to Yuma by Michael Brandt & Derek Haas [many drafts]

- The tree of Life by Terrance Mallick (also Lebanese) [http://www.mypdfscripts.com/screenplays/the-tree-of-life]

COMEDY
- The Hangover by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore [many drafts]

- Toy Story (PIXAR) [http://www.mypdfscripts.com/screenplays/toy-story]

ACTION
- Kingdom of Heaven by William Monahan.[http://www.mypdfscripts.com/screenplays/kingdom-of-heaven]

- V for Vendetta [many drafts]

I'm cool with whatever we choose. However, I suggest we start with newer scripts.

For those new to the game it would be helpful to know modern styles.
chris at 2011-08-12 19:46:00:
I'm new to the game, but I'd really like to read through Thelma and Louise with the group.
Gabe at 2011-08-12 21:27:31:
I second Thelma & Louise, though I am also interested in studying more recent scripts.
Saint716 at 2011-08-12 23:31:25:
Awesome. I second the newer scripts idea. And I'd like to suggest scripts which were not writen by the director:

Comedy: Burke & Hare
The shooting script. I know it's from across the pond but the timing is good as comes to theaters here September 9th.

Action: Salt
There are two. The 2009 version tailored for Jolie and the 2007 original Edwin A. Salt.

Drama: The King's Speech
A 2010 shooting script or 2008 draft.

Thriller: Sherlock Holmes
2008 or 2009 revised draft.
James at 2011-08-13 18:51:03:
Not to be a stickler, but FIGHT CLUB isn't really an Action movie.

TBH -- not really sure what genre it would fall into. It's technically satire. But that usually crosses genres and is hard to nail down.

@ Saint716 -- Not sure I'd call Sherlock Holmes a Thriller either. In fact, it's actually closer to an Action film. You go Guy Richie! It's probably a Mystery though.

I find it kind of interesting that ROMANCE as a genre is almost non-existent in modern film. It seems to either be divided into DRAMA or ROM-COM these days. It was huge prior to the 60s. What happened?

Same with the ADVENTURE genre.
Saint716 at 2011-08-14 00:17:50:
Everything is crossing genres.

But IMDB classified Sherlock as a thriller. I checked before I posted.
Laura Deerfield at 2011-08-14 15:33:57:
I'd like to add the following suggestions:

Action - Boondock Saints
Star Wars (the first movie)

Comedy - Being There

Drama - Ordinary People

Thriller - Blade Runner
the Usual Suspects
