Paper: TOPS Docket Gold legal pads, pale yellow with the extra rigid backboard. Pens: Papermate Silk, 1.68 point, black ink. Buy 'em four at a time every time I walk into Office Depot; keep a stock pile next to the canned corn in the basement Armageddon pantry...(just kidding...really.... ;-)

Pen: Micro point uni-ball roller pen, black. Bestest pen ever. They've changed the writing on the side of the pen, but I've already forgiven them. Paper: whatever the heck's available, top choice my Bienfang notesketch book, half blank, half lined sheets, perfect for chaotically-inclined folks who doodle and scribble.

I have a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck fountain pen my grandfather got me as a birthday gift in college. It's my work horse and I use it for everything.

Obviously, the pen itself is expensive, but the ink is super cheap and I prefer the writing experience.

I combine that with a moleskin notebook I use for thoughts, ideas, etc.

For actual screenwriting I go straight to the computer.

Ha! I KNEW there were others out there who just HAD to use a certain kind of pen.

Seriously, I can NOT use any other pen than the Pentel Rolling Writer. And I'm a pretty sloppy writer, so I should probably use a pen with a finer tip for more precision. I've tried, but nope. Gots to have me my PRW.

I don't know if I CAN'T write with any other pen, but I go very far out of my way to not write with anything other than a Pilot Precise V5 pen (extra fine)(black). No idea where that started, but I have probably 30 of them all over my house and I try and avoid anything else.

I recently have developed an infatuation with fountain pens, though, and I'm getting closer and closer (after hours of research that probably happened in place of old fashioned productivity, naturally) to ordering one and trying that out.

A pen that comes in a close second to the V5 is a Zebra Regal Roller NR5 0.5mm needle tip which I just recently discovered.

Far snobbier about my paper. I used to be a Moleskine guy, but that was only because I didn't know any better. Now I do, and it's required that I have some form of Clairefontaine paper to write on. Yep, that's definitely French imported paper, and that's definitely douchey, but I don't care. The greatest paper I've ever written on, hands down.

Usually in the form of a Rhodia Wednotebook (lined), which is the same form factor as a Moleskine but with infiiiiinitely better construction and paper (Clairefontaine 90g), but if I need something bigger, I'll use a cloth-bound Clairefontaine A4 size notebook.

I feel like I just confessed.

Side note, Joshua, if you're a fountain pen user and your Montblanc is bleeding through the Moleskine paper, I highly recommend checking out a Rhodia Webnotebook. Their paper is built to hold fountain pen ink and comes highly recommended from everyone I've talked to that uses a fountain pen for their daily writing.

@Nate - I haven't really had much issue with bleeding on the moleskin but I will definitely have to check out a Wednotebook. In fact, just ordered one from Amazon! Thanks for the tip!
