Soundtracks all day long. Depending on the script. Maybe some Hans Zimmer or Michael Giacchino. Love Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings score. And John Williams of course.

The soundtracks from Schindler's List, Last of the Mohicans, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, American Beauty, Amelie and LOTR. Also love Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings (Olive Stone uses it in all his films), Claire de Lune, Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley and Moon River and lots of Indian film and classical music and many many more.

The most difficult scenes from my scripts and TV work i've cracked with music in the background or in my head. Somehow when the tone of the scene and the music gel, the ideas, lines, words all fall into place with much more ease. But i use music only as a last resort and never while attempting a first draft of anything.
