A well deserved Oscar winning performance. Jane Fonda at the top of her game. Good movie, as well made in 1971, 40 years ago.
Prostitution is legal in Canada, most of Europe including England, France, Denmark, Germany, Mexico including most of South America, Australia, New Zealand, most of the Far East. Countries with pragmatic, realistic policies.
Regulate it, tax it, (will help with the deficit) because the world's oldest profession isn't going away, even in the USA.
Another good Hooker performance is Claire Trevor as Dallas in John Ford's classic Stagecoach.

Also a great film to study framing and cinematography. It's used well to enhance the narrative

What an absolutely kick ass film. Thanks for putting it in the spotlight, where it belongs. This is one of those flicks that always seems on the edge of tragically sliding off into obscurity.
