I know you can't say, but my curiosity is killing me on who the star is.

My guess, Arnold.
Todd Wallinger at 2011-07-21 09:37:17:
Arnold in an Academy Award-winning movie?

Nah. I say it's Sylvester Stallone.
James at 2011-07-21 09:58:11:
I'm with Todd on this one. More trying to figure out the iconic figure.

I'm guessing Rambo. Seems like a more suitable cutout than Rocky.

BTW -- Expendibles sucked. You can't have a movie that is 12 movie stars each getting their cool movie star intro, doing cool kick ass shit with zero plot.

With 1 movie star there's only so much high octane you can cram into a script until you realize you need to find some filler in these inbetween scenes. That filler is usually where these movies shove plot.

12 movie stars. No room for plot.

I'm with Todd, too. The short list of iconic 80s action guys: Bruce, Arnold, Mel, and Sly. Arnold and Bruce didn't come near Academy Award-winning films (except maybe for sound of FX or something like that) and it seems like Mel, as the actor of the bunch, would have been fine with being down and out. It was his stock and trade in the Lethal Weapon series. Can anyone think of someone left out?

That sounds like a Stallone scene to me. The truck is reminiscent of "Over the Top." He gets my vote. The Oscar thing really does narrow it down.

You did your best to protect him directly, but I plays me a bit o' poker - and son, what you got here is...one helluva tell.

Can't be nobody else but Stallone.

I watched some godawful movie(DVD) some time ago...uhh...a friend made me watch it-(Driven). Stallone narrates the behind the scenes...for what the movie SHOULD have been about-him of course. Apparently, a lot of his scenes hit the editing floor. Great editing decisions, but was like trying to save a decapitation with a bandaid - hopeless movie.

Anyhow, during his narration, it becomes painfully clear that he has a massive ego - He's a *STAR*

The height reference wasn't even needed. Hold 'em closer to the vest son. ;-)
Mike Honcho at 2011-07-21 10:53:08:
My guess is Harrison Ford...
Nick West at 2011-07-21 11:19:17:
Oh yeah, the Academy Award part.
jwebb66 at 2011-07-21 13:03:38:
The pitch - down and out drunk drives explosives truck through many treacherous miles - were you watching Wages of Fear the evening before!?!

Sounds good to me...
Scott at 2011-07-21 13:52:41:
@jwebb66: Actually "Sorcerer" was more of an inspiration for the pitch.
