The tend will continue. Americans,especially baby boomers, don't like to get out of their comfort zone, leave the house. Other countries with younger populations and still growing like to go out, like the new technologies. Hollywood knows this and will act accordingly.

Well the problem with american comedies is that they use very obvious and in-your-face brand of humour. I think that if american comedy can sift a bit towards subtlety it would do a lot better internationally.
