Seriously, the thought that this Wonder Woman could some how do the same as Harry Potter did is a bit ludacris.

My guess is they have writers, produces, and directors working on all the DC Comics characters, hoping to find lightning in a bottle. Superman would seem to be the logical next choice, but apparently that has been a troubled franchise as they have been trying to get it rebooted for years.

Thank you for that. I'm not the most well read person in the YA or fantasy genres, but I get nauseous when I hear some JK detractor (not that there are all that many) basically calling her derivative and unimaginative. I want to vomit. And then I want to beat that person down, and then vomit some more - right on top of them...

Even at my advanced age, reading those 7 books was one of the highlights of my reading career. And, like the quote from "Vision Quest" regarding Pele, I am in awe and I marvel that a member of the same species that I happen to be a part of could write like her, and move me the way she did. The thrill is both direct and vicarious. I am elevated by her words, and by her ability to craft those words.

JK's imagination and craft are to be treasured.

@RonC: Rowling would have a hallowed spot in my Hall of Writing Fame if for no other reason than the fact she got kids reading books. Back in 2000, she came to L.A. and did a book signing at Children's Book World on Pico in LA. My wife and son (then 9), camped outside to meet her. I drove over to bring them some snacks. The line of people went on for blocks and blocks. I stood there, looking up the line, and here were all these children -- reading. Amazing visual I'll never forget.

In 25 years time, I wonder how many notable writers will admit to the fact they were inspired to imagine becoming a writer because of Rowling and the HP series.
