One example: I always heard that the reason Abduction was up and filming so quickly was because of Taylor Lautner; so yeah, if you have someone noticeable attached to it, it would definitely help. Of course, doing that is tough.

It's good to know the drawbacks and advantages. But here's another concern of mine:

Can you put complete faith in your reps? If a manager assembles talent for a spec and it sells, that manager will likely want/get a producer credit. This is advantageous compared to just 10% of the script sale. So are your reps swayed by that possibility?

I think being open and upfront is the best way to handle situations like this, but it's still a little awkward.

What are your thoughts?
