Sometimes we let the outside world get in the way of the process...

"That spec sold because they knew someone!"

"That story is exactly like X!"

Then there are those that nit-pick other stories to pieces when they should...

Have their ass in a chair focusing on their own!

I dream of what could be... I watch movies... I read great scripts and I read crappy scripts... and wonder how that particular fish wrapper made it to the flicker show...

But then I get off of my ass and write.

Because if I don't...

There will never be an opportunity for someone to pick MY feature to pieces...

As I drive my 911 Turbo around town! : )

Now join me and get off YOUR ass and start writing...

So others can bitch and moan while we make it happen!

Somehow you always manage to tap into my writing circadian rhythm. Whatever it is, freaky-timing or ESP, keep it up. Oh, and thanks for the new mantra to add to my white board, "Set aside the attachments."

This is so good! Looking at it that way, writing is more like Zen practise and I can visualize myself (almost) enlightened - in case the fame thing doesn´t work out. No seriously, thank you for writing this and putting it out there. It makes me inclined to like your blog, whatever you may do here. I´m new to the site. I just wonder: HOW can anyone keep up with all this internet communication and still write scripts? My time is split about 80% -20% between the two -and I think that´s bad. How do YOU handle it?? Does it boild down to keeping a few channels open and closing the other ones after a period of trail and error? I´m in that phase: trying to find out what´s helpful and what isn´t to being a scriptwriter. Online.
