I'm 44. Yes, I play video games and have since the very first one - Pong.

I'm also an avid fan of films as well. There is time enough for both forms of entertainment.

I'm 27 and I'm shocked by this finding. I would have assumed the median age to be somewhere in the Mid 20's.

I've been playing video games since I was a kid with a NES and an old floppy drive computer. Recently, I've been noticing that I've almost growing out of them or at least don't have enough time to get involved.

They're extremely expensive and between working, socializing, writing and trying to either read scripts or watch movies; I just don't have anymore time left over for that now. Let alone with a girlfriend or wife and kids.

Movies and games are really different.It must sound silly but when i play , i feel more "active" than when i watch a movie .I have a goal , my own agenda and i am the hero .

I am 37 play some video games -- usually more skill-based, puzzle, strategy games. Not so much the first person shooter games.

But I do believe there will be a time not too far in the future when computer games and films will merge. I'm not saying that all games will be filmic, nor will all films be playable, but there will be a new type of interactive movie that utilizes the attributes of video games. And someone will have to write those movies too.

This doesn't surprise me, because the average age falls squarely in the middle of Gen-X, and X was raised on video games. Didn't think they were going to give those up just because they got older.

I'm a baby boomer. Never played a video game in my life. I think it's a geek thing.

I don't play much anymore, but I had an interesting conversation with a neighbor awhile back. He's retired, in his early 60s, and we were talking about aviation and he said that he liked the flight sims. The conversation turned to video games, and the more we talked, the more he confessed to playing all kinds of different video games. He's single, a retired judge, and has his 3rd bedroom converted into a gaming room with a top-flight gaming chair with controllers, and he continually upgrades his system. I was surprised but not shocked when I realized that gaming is his only hobby if you don't count his bulldog Lucy.

I found it interesting that he really was reluctant to admit that he was a gamer, but because he perceived me as a fellow gamer he opened up. I bet he's not alone in the boomer generation.

No - I'm sure he's not alone. But X really owns this type of entertainment. Don't know how Gen-Y stacks up or what types of games they might be into....
