I'm Gary, I write for FlickeringMyth.com and currently about half way through a non-fiction book on Batman that will be published here in the UK next year.

Main ambitions are around screenwriting (and maybe producing) but a bit rusty having worked on other things for a couple of years.

Really need to get back into it!

I'm Teenie Russell a very new screenwriter from London.

I have a background in television production but since becoming a Mum I finally started to focus on doing more writing and less talking. I initially wanted to focus on shorts and features but have surprised myself by writing a couple of sitcoms and comedy sketches.

Have just finished a Masters in Writing Drama for TV and me and my writing partner are just now writing a pilot for the American market, so GITS has been an amazing resource, particularly for the link to the website that has all the TV scripts( and pilots) available to read and for the industry advice. @Alicia: Great to hear from you. Curious where you got your Masters. Are there many programs in Scotland or the rest of the U.K. that offer M.A.s in writing for TV and film? In the U.S., there are some notable MFA (Master of Fine Art) programs such as at the U. of Southern California, NYU (New York University), U. of Texas, Austin, Chapman U, FSU (Florida State). Is there is a comparable list of grad programs there that are recognized as top tier? How good are your grad schools at helping you get a foothold in the actual TV and/or film industry in the U.K.? Hello! This is Anne (aka twitter's likeswriting). I am self-taught. I have always been writing but got distracted and it was (only?) a couple of years ago that I decided to go for the screenwriting seriously. Although French, I have been living in the UK for 15 years. I am currently working on a stop-mo short for a director friend of mine, a spec psychological thriller feature and I am expecting another short draft any day now that a little producer I know wants me to rewrite. :)

@Anne: I recognize you, too, from Twitter! Your creative journey sounds like you are in tune with Joseph Campbell's mantra: "Follow your bliss." I wish you the best in your writing and filmmaking efforts. And thanks for introducing yourself!

Hi, my name is Larry Barker and this is my only 'go to' site that gets a visit at least twice a day.
I'm based in the UK, in the heart of the Shropshire countryside - but all face-to-face stuff is done in London. In the time I've been following, my writing career has evolved into my proper job. Started off trying to sell spec scripts (sold a few) but this has led to more and more work as a 're-writer' taking on projects that have hit a wall and performing major surgery, usually involving a page one re-write. Contrary to popular opinion, I find this strangely satisfying work - though still try to find time for my original stuff. I'm nearer than I've ever been to getting something produced (3 scripts at Cannes this year)and have work for the next 4 months - so things are pretty cool. Being the wrong side of 50, though, I am keen for things to hurry up! Great site, keep up the good work.

@flynn30: Hey, great to hear from you, Tracey. Always nice to catch up with writers I've worked in one of my online classes. Three scripts! Excellent.
