Feell like I've seen this movie a gazillion times already.

And yet some studio just paid Mr. Maurino significant money for the project. Two things. (1) Another example of 'similar but different' mentality that permeates Hollywood business decisions. (2) A wise writer would get hold of Inside the Machine script, read and analyze it to see what about it makes is different enough that a Hwood buyer would decide to acquire it.

Or possibly the studio has a star in mind who's ready to bump up from light romcom fare to meatier 'acting' and they just need a standard template script to use, even if it's just to keep him occupied and away from other studios.

Funny - I read the posting and thought "It's about time we had another one of these movies! I miss this stuff!" I think people forget sometimes that if you're a fan of a particular genre or artist, you're okay with having another helping of similar, as long as there's just a touch of different to make it worth your while. You like that familiarity, you like drawing comparisons, you like being reminded of the other movies in the genre's cannon yet still being able to contrast the works, too. And for one, I'm really ready for a return to realism after all the over-the-top comic book and super hero fare we've been fed over the past seven or eight years.
