As a former Development Executive, Production Executive, Personal Manager and Executive Assistant, I can say that every word you wrote is 100% on the money. The "glamour" of the job is shortlived. The work is endless and often frustrating, but like you said, it's all worth it when someone really has a good story AND delivers it professionally. That being said, it usually like looking for a tiny needle in a proverbial haystack of worthless crap, rarely worth the paper it's printed on.

Good inspiration to write that script that shines, even on the first page!

This also reflects a reality and lack of awareness I've seen a lot. I used to work for a prominent indie producer in New York. This guy had a four figure number of script submissions a year and a dozen odd projects on the development slate at any given time.

A couple of writer/directors (most of his projects were writer/director ones) constantly seemed irritated with him, thinking he wasn't paying their project enough attention. What they failed to grasp was 1) These things take a lot of time and are out of one person's control, and 2) If you were the producer or executive's only project or priority, that would mean the producer or executive is nobody (and can't pay his rent).

It's always good to be aware how hard the other jobs are.
