"No wire hangers!" from Mommie Dearest, of course.

Joan Crawford: No... wire... hangers. What's wire hangers doing in this closet when I told you: no wire hangers EVER? I work and work 'till I'm half-dead, and I hear people saying, "She's getting old." And what do I get? A daughter... who cares as much about the beautiful dresses I give her... as she cares about me. What's wire hangers doing in this closet? Answer me. I buy you beautiful dresses, and you treat them like they were some dishrag. You do. Three hundred dollar dress on a wire hanger. We'll see how many you've got if they're hidden somewhere. We'll see... we'll see. Get out of that bed. All of this is coming out. Out. Out. Out. Out. Out. Out. You've got any more? We're gonna see how many wire hangers you've got in your closet. Wire hangers, why? Why? Christina, get out of that bed. Get out of that bed. You live in the most beautiful house in Brentwood and you don't care if your clothes are stretched out from wire hangers. And your room looks like some two-dollar-a-week furnished room in some two-bit back street town in Okalahoma. Get up. Get up. Clean up this mess.

Oh, yeah, Annika. Had to include this one. When "Mommie Dearest" came out, it was so laughably over the top -- I mean people in theaters were literally laughing at it -- the studio completely changed their ad campaign for the second weekend, switching from pitching it as a drama to a comedy. And wire hangers has been a cinematic talking point ever since.

Well, from the ultimate battle of mothers (technically, one is adoptive)...

Ripley: Get away from her, you bitch!

SILENCE OF THE LAMBS - 1991 screenplay by Ted Tally, based on the novel by Thomas Harris, directed by Jonathan Demme

Hannibal Lecter: Tell me, Senator: did you nurse Catherine yourself?
Senator Ruth Martin: What?
Hannibal Lecter: Did you breast-feed her?
Paul Krendler: Now wait a minute...
Senator Ruth Martin: Yes, I did.
Hannibal Lecter: Toughened your nipples, didn't it?
Paul Krendler: You son of a bitch!
Hannibal Lecter: Amputate a man's leg and he can still feel it tickling. Tell me, mum, when your little girl is on the slab, where will it tickle you?
Senator Ruth Martin: Take this... *thing* back to Baltimore!
Hannibal Lecter: Five foot ten, strongly built, about a hundred and eighty pounds; hair blonde, eyes pale blue. He'd be about thirty-five now. He said he lived in Philadelphia, but he may have lied. That's all I can remember, mum, but if I think of any more, I will let you know. Oh, and Senator, just one more thing: love your suit!

Clip hard to find on this movie, but had to give a shout out to Samantha Caine, a true kick ass mom, described as follows in Long Kiss Goodnight:

"When I first met you, you were all "Oh phooey, I burnt the darn muffins;" now, you go into a bar and ten minutes later sailors come running out." (1:35 in trailer)

To her daughter:
Caitlin Caine: Mommy, am I gonna die?
Charly Baltimore: Oh, no, baby. No, you're not gonna die. They are.
[Charly strikes a match to light a gasoline stream.]
Charly Baltimore: Cover your ears. Hey! Should we get a dog?
(last line made trailer, 1:55)

It's a great scene that sums up the troubled relationship between a mother and her three sons.
