Wow! Thanks a lot for this Edward Scissorhands post. It's rare that we get a truly original modern fairy tale - with genuine emotion. This movie left such an impression on me - and still does.

Growing up biracial, I often felt like Edward - an outcast struggling for acceptance. But just like in this beautiful movie, if someone prejudges us - it's their problem, not ours. We should take pride in what makes us unique.

It's interesting to me how sometimes fantasy films totally grasp these social themes better than the reality-based drama that hangs their hat on them.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and ED WOOD are still Tim Burton's best movies - maybe he should try to work the name into a title again!
