Scott, what's your best advice on showing emotions in action description when writing a script? At times I find it hard to express what I'm trying the character to feel in the descriptions. Thanks.

Structure is character. Agree or disagree and why?

Should detail in description be consistent throughout, or is it okay to lighten the touch once the world and tone has been established?

When the script is ready to go, is it worth it to go to pitch fests? Or should one pursue the traditional way and send out query letters to producers?

I’ve always believed that emulating those who are successful is a key to success. You say to immerse yourself in cinema and I agree. It’s also very difficult to do while working full time at something only vaguely related to writing. I've wondered for years how you do it. What does your typical day look like? What did your typical day look like when you wrote K-9, Trojan War or Snow Birds (i.e. when you wake, how long you write, how much you read, when you watch films, are you a Churchill kind of sleeper, etc.)?

I second Ferdinand's question. Pitch festival season is starting, with the stepped up advertising and offers for discount buy-early passes. These things are expensive and I've heard of no success stories coming out of them... but could it be worth the $300 - 500 just to practice pitching?

Any thoughts on writing for the web? How can we develop plot, character, theme in a short form episodic format? What about structure? Curious if you have any thoughts on writing web series, in particular the craft of it.
