LOL

Lived there once...that was enough.
Darke Conteur at 2011-04-14 07:53:28:
This is going to sound so naive, but SERIOULSY?

Scott, what's a respectable car by Hollywood standards?

I have a car that is cuter than I am. It's a six speed RSX, and its color is distinctive. In fact, I had the only car in the Bay Area of that color for years, and over the past two years I've noticed more and more cars on the road in this "hot new" color. :-)

I like to keep my cars for a long time. So, is this 2006 car now too old for HWD?
Teddy Pasternak at 2011-04-14 09:35:31:
This is hilarious, and so true. I used to park my car three blocks away before meetings so no one would see that old piece of s#!t. Now I have a nicer car that I'm not embarrassed to park on the studio lots. Appearances...

The lunch scene at The Ivy in the movie Get Shorty pretty much sums it up. Danny DeVito's character orders "off the menu" and then leaves without eating a bite.
Scott at 2011-04-14 09:35:39:
@ascribe: Cars are a subject worthy of another TBOS post. There is only one totally safe car to drive in terms of impressions: A Toyota Prius. It's completely politically correct and immediately slots you in the "not competing for the latest, most expensive penis-mobile." Anything else: Hey, as long as it fits the image you want to convey and you've got a story to back it up, it can work. More later.
The Bitter Script Reader at 2011-04-14 10:21:45:
Teddy - I've definitely had industry lunches with execs who behave EXACTLY as DeVito did in that scene. The hardest part about those meals is trying not to laugh as the scenario goes down.
Ferdinand at 2011-04-14 11:35:12:
"You fake text"

Why fake text? Why not just text your manager/agent/sig other?

better yet. tweet the whole meeting so you can give everyone the play by play.

@world - Havin' a C-zar wid WMA rep. Mucho $$. LOL
Scott at 2011-04-14 12:03:03:
@Ferdinand: Great! You're a natural for the whole Hwood lunch thing!
Courtney at 2011-04-14 21:02:14:
For the record Scott...

"God gave you one mouth and two ears for a reason."

That was one of the first TBOS posts.

I'm nerdy like that. I PDF and save them...

Because one day I will be there... on the other side of that table... oh yes... I will be there... I will...

Hell... at least it's a free lunch!
Scott at 2011-04-14 21:15:04:
@Courtney: You know what I post better than I do. Of course, I checked the other week and I've posted over 6,000 items, so I guess I can be forgiven for not remembering that TBOS post.

Re you doing big-time Hwood lunches: Oh, yeah. Just keep believing and writing, believing and writing...
Courtney at 2011-04-15 21:03:41:
Hell Scott... ya got me... I'm a GITS old timer now! : )

Not the GITS police... just soak it all in.

Looking forward to 12,000!
