Kinsey. I often feel that bio-pics weigh too heavily on the story of the life at the expense of the story of why the life mattered (The Aviator, for example). Kinsey shows the effect its central character has on the world, and the reciprocal effect that fame and accomplishment has on him.

That's not to say that the only stakes that matter in a biopic are historical consequences. (Certainly The Elephant Man is not that kind of story.) But the stakes must be known.

What an excellent movie! Such an interesting character portrayal.

Tucker: The Man and His Dream
Written by that guy who wrote about some dude with a speech impediment. I think he won an award for that. Wait I think that film is also a bio-pic.

My favorite biopic? Why, it's my all time favorite movie, as well - Patton.

Currently working on a biopic (commissioned). It's REALLY hard. You have to switch from trying to find the truth in something ( and getting it over on screen) to having to ignore great chunks of the truth to make the story work.
I've discovered that in this case more than ever having the theme of the piece really nailed down is vital. The bits that fit, you use - the bits that don't...
