I feel like the Coen's had a good handle on frustration comedy when they wrote Walter Sobchak, one of my all-time favorite film characters, in the Big Lebowski.

Perfectly infuriating. He's not wrong, he's just an asshole.

Give Saul Bellow a read. Specifically his books "Herzog" and "Henderson the Rain King." Both delve deep into the mind of a protagonist who, in the eyes of those around him, is acting somewhat irrationally when in fact he's merely maturing... latent maturing, but maturing nonetheless.

I guarantee if you are a fan of what Baumbach does you will find much to enjoy within the pages of Bellow. (toss in a little Philip Roth as well for extra dashes of discontent and alienation!)
