Went to a filmmaker forum at Cinequest today called the "art of the biz." One of the panelist is a financier. I asked him what the minimum budget would have to be for his bank to even consider and he replied "2.5 million dollars." The article mentioned insurance. Now it makes sense why they won't consider anything under 2 million. I think 1/2 the features playing at cinequest were under 1 million. Indie filmmakers have it tough.
