Nick, yes. If you use Primary Sluglines to indicate a new scene, then that becomes your default indicator to a reader of a transition. In fact, I just glanced over some of this year's nominated screenplays and Toy Story 3, True Grit, The Kids Are All Right, The King's Speech, and Black Swan do not use CUT TO's between scenes.

Well, that makes me happy. I was only putting them into my screenplay as a formality. I've been writing comic books for a few years now and we never use that sort of terminology. (Actually in comic book scripts there is no accepted standard—still no one uses "CUT TO:")
