The 8 year old in me wants to see Cowboys and Aliens... and he always has the final say.

To me they were all weak...

Even cut... the VW commercial was the best.

Cowboys and Aliens was the number one ad for me. Captain America piqued my interest.

Super 8 is already everything I want in a film. I love the mystery shrouding both trailers and we all know how tight Abrams holds the cards to his chest. This idea of withholding information is what Hitchcock used to do...and he is considered a master. The trailer makes me wonder what I will see, like a kid looking at the ocean from a plane for the first time: I'm really excited.

Cowboys & Aliens definitely triggers something in me. Funny, I've known a lot of screenwriters over the past two decades who wanted to do something like this... I used to joke with my writing partner, when weren't sure what project to tackle next, that we could always dust off the old "cowboys versus aliens thingy."

However, I fear that, like Scott indicated, it may be one of those movies that may be a one-joke premise... I do trust this material, though, with the folks involved.

And Super 8? Well my God... could you possible have a more appetite-whetting teaser? Absolutely rocketed to the top of my "must see" list.

Super 8 has my ticket.

I was also blown away by Captain America. I was ready to not like that at all, but that trailer was almost exactly what I imagine it was going to look like. I can forgive Joe Johnston Jurassic Park 3 if he makes the full-length movie as good as that trailer.

@Scott: How can you not dig the Cowboys and Aliens trailer?! Daniel Craig has a badass with a mysterious past? Harrison Ford in a saddle, wearing a cowboy hat, and growling all of his dialogue? Aliens against Cowboys? I'm actually at a loss to think of a way to improve it at this point. Maybe if Spielberg was directing it circa 1986 but that's about it. I'll be there on day 1. There's more than bullets and aliens and explosions behind that one too--I'll vouch for that.
Scott at 2011-02-07 18:40:46:
@Nate: I like the concept of Cowboys & Aliens. Sounds fun. But the 30-second trailer does nothing for me. Compare to Captain America or Super 8 which both ground the images in characters who even in the short time-frame conveyed a range of emotions. I felt something with both of those ads. I felt nothing with C&A. Plus the aliens seem generic to me. But I hope it's successful because it's not a sequel or a remake. And the project has been kicking around for years, at one point, I believe, a live-action / animated project.
