I don't really dream about current projects for some reason, but I do dream more cinematically since I started writing more often. More often than not my dreams have plots and stories and span multiple nights, rather than being some random collection of junk from past and present.

Not at all.

But then I never remember my dreams anyway.

So perhaps the answer's yes and I just don't know...

I do actually. I dream about scenes and characters and dialogue and in the dream it all makes perfect sense. Then I wake up and can't remember what I dreamed, only that it was about writing. Or I can remember but I realize that it was total nonsense and only "worked" in that dream. Which is weird because in the dream it seemed to be the greatest idea ever: "Yes! The flying poodle... eat the Avocado, eat it!"

Can't say that it has. I have to admit, I'm kinda jealous of those that dream parts of their scripts. Still, now the thought has been let loose on my subconscious, who knows?

Maybe it's time I looked into lucid dreaming - create my own night-time holodeck!

So funny that I read this post today! I dream my scripts all the time. Just last night, I dreamed a rewrite for the ending of a script for which I'm currently seeking funding. The fact that it was on my mind 24/7 probably had a lot to do with the dreaming of the solution.

Also, I dream stories ALL the time. Ever since I can remember, all my dreams are three-act stories. Sometimes, they come out like Pulp Fiction and are all over the place time-wise, and sometimes they are like Inception and are very layered and meaningful. And, sometimes I have lucid dreams where I create the story, then wake up and write it all down.

I love it when I dream a story. It's the highlight of my day! :)

I don't dream projects, but I do visualise scenes and stories when I go to bed, and I'm waiting to drop off.

Occasionally I'll wake up from a dream that would be a fantastic movie - one involved myself and two old grannies were on a jetski being chased across summer fields in the Alps - but then it fades before I can wake up enough to write the dream down.

Damn, you got a cool brain, Scott. How long would someone have to steep in scripts to produce dreams like yours.

And very cool that others also dream about their scenes/scripts (not me, though occasionally I'll wake up with a resolution to something).

Incubation is a stage in creativity, where things gel in the back brain, or something like that, wikipedia has more.

Usually I dream about movies or books that I'm into at the moment. Those leftover feelings creep into my writing.

I don't dream about what I'm writing. But when I started programming I was pitched in at the deep end and maintained commercial code as I was learning the language.

I used to dream of code scrolling down the screen, just too fast for me to read it.

Hmmm... maybe I should put the same intensity into my writing.
