James Cameron does this for action scenes in his scripts, too - look at Avatar, for example. In his case, I think it's more about organizing the action and pacing as opposed to page count concerns.

Thanks for this series of tips, Scott.

My first draft was running at 117 pages, which ballooned to 120 after I added an extra scene.

However, by eliminating orphans and parentheses, the script is now back down to 115 pages, which I believe is a healthy amount with which to be going into a second draft.
