Weird on a personal level.
"Go Into The Story" is my home page every time I boot up Safari (my tiny attempt at a writer's regimen - if I'm going to procrastinate on the internet then at least let me procrastinate about writing, right? Right....?) and of course, every time I boot it up there seems to be another (compelling it has to be said) story about the inner workings of Hollywood or some such world a million miles away from me.
And then tonight I boot up the 'net and find this and now I'm the owner of a fuzzy kind of smile.
It's not just the fact it's a video from the same country and county as myself. It's not even the fact that it's also from a local production company whose script competition I entered earlier this year (didn't get through but it was a fun writing exercise - even if it did apparently birth a whole bunch of Hitchcock clones due to the "ambiguity" of the given pitch).
No, the inciting incident of my perpetual grin is that I just saw Dave, one of the fellas that I work with during my 9-5 existence, captured shooting the breeze as part of the above promo. A promo showcased on the site that I visit daily for my screen-writing pep talks.
So congratulations "Go Into The Story." You now truly are my friendly neighbourhood screen-writing blog. Thanks for the splendidly surreal moment and a Merry Christmas to you all.
