Considering the hatchet jobs Kuzui and Sutherland did on Whedon's script for the Buffy film, I can't blame him for not wanting anything to do with this (utterly pointless) reboot.

I don't think it's morally wrong to produce a Buffy movie without Joss's involvement. I just think there's no way it could possibly be any good.

It won't have the heart we've come to expect (that Whedon is so damn fine at putting into everything he does), nor any of the series characters (they have rights only to the movie story), and what I've learned of the writer doesn't give me much hope (apparently only a bit of acting and maybe singing). Twilight Buffy!

Doesn't the fact that you are obligated to launch a "counter-offensive" sort of defeat the whole purpose of doing a remake?
