Poor Joss, he does not deserve all that evil that is done to his work (just imagine where Firefly could be today when Fox would have treated it right).

Yeah, but that was a well established franchise that totally went the wrong way and Nolan led it back on track and on a path that asymptotically joined the world of the comic books. Buffy is a series that never really went down the drain and Wheodon's work does not need refurbishment. Period.

The mention of Firefly reminds me of a statement from an old professor of mine. See, I enjoyed Firefly and I agree that Fox totally screwed around with it and didn't give it the shot it deserved. However... I think the fact that the Browncoats are the most fanatical among Whedon fans owes to the fact that Firefly had a brief life and didn't last long enough for an inevitable dip or plateau in quality.

An old professor of mine used to say of Orson Wells, "Had Wells stepped into the street and been struck dead by a bus the day after completing his final cut of CITIZEN KANE, film scholars everywhere would be saying, 'OH! If ONLY he had LIVED!'

Loved Joss's response too, which was on target considering his association with projects like Wonder Woman and Avengers originating from other creators.
