I enjoyed the series. The first one dragged a bit, but I thought that was because the movie tried to preserve the book too closely. I thought the third one--Azkaban--was brilliant. A complicated story well done.

So garbage. No callbacks whatsoever

I have to say, I loved the books - but the last one was my least favorite.

Ironically, this movie was one of the best.

They managed to fix a lot of the problems that the final book had, plot holes, weird character moments, and more. Just an example was giving meaning to Hedwig the owl's death. That may not seem like much, but in the book, she just... died. Yes, she was killed, but it didn't mean anything.

In the movie, she took a deadly spell for Harry, and died to save him. Instantly, the scene became more powerful.

I'm absolutely thrilled to see what they do with the next movie, and I'm sorry I have to wait until July. :D

the fifth film is definitely the best written in my opinion...
i feel like the fact that they try to stick to the books so closely prevents them from making good films.

They are good films, but they crammed too much in. Take Harry Potter 3, it should be about the prisoner of azkaban, but it isn't. Deatheaters and everything else gets in the way, but not much about the prisoner which is what the film title promises.
