Nice to hear stories like this one. This is a strange war. We go on living our lives as Americans, often forgetting about what's happening overseas, unlike the generations before us. I'm no exception to this, despite the fact that this war has hit home to my family in an extremely tragic way.

We should be doing more to remember the men and women who are serving. I do think bumper stickers are a start, but they're nowhere near enough.

Thank you for this, Scott, and esp for printing in full. What a wonderfully expressed and getting to the heart of the matter post. And Sorkin is prescient, or just too darn smart and clear-gazed, because since his post was published, there's already been at least one senator saying with one breath, veterans sacrificed for this country, and in his next breath, supporting cuts to VA care.
