By no means have I read 'em all, but I have read many. I went into King's book, "Christine" expecting it to be schlock (even though I found his stuff better than that in the past), and found it to be the best book about that old cliched idea I ever saw. This will date me, but I had just picked up a new King book on a work trip, when I found myself snowed in at a hotel (a Nor'easter, Boston, 1978; 46" of snow, high tides, 75 mph winds); the book? You guessed it, "The Shining." Of the more recent books of his that I thought were really good: "Bag of Bones," and "Gerald's Game." That latter really chilled me with some of the most quiet, disturbing horror I'd ever read.

You know, he talks in the interview 2nd from top about stories that are too short to be novels and too long to be short stories, and he mentions novellas at 22-25,000 word lengths. I've noticed that screenplays usually fall into that range or just under. So, if you're looking to adapt a pre-existing tale into a screenplay, look for novellas. They may be the perfect size.

I'm a great fan of Stephen King. Thank you very much for this collection of interviews.
