Wow. I love this. And it's true too; not necessarily the importance of some kind of ritual or cleansing which I can understand and agree with in part, but how, after reading something whose words affect you in some grand way, in which you find in their words some sort of artistic inspiration or beauty or truth, that you grow unconsciously influenced and can't help but write something with shades of what you read. I have definitely found this to be true, though it's not something I consciously endeavored to find or attempt as a tool. Now, however, I will. I'm definitely going to borrow this technique - I just have to find my own pieces to flip through.
