Growing up in the midwest, the only venue available to me to learn about non-traditional film was Sunday mornings with Siskel & Ebert. If it wasn't for them, I never would have known about some of my favorite films like Hoop Dreams, Breaking the Waves, You Can Count on Me... the internet wasn't prevalent at the time and my hometown had no film culture. I'd check the local Video Connection daily for the titles Gene and Roger recommended. I still remember the looks I got when as a 15 year-old I brought Go Fish up to the counter.

My favorites are Roger Ebert, James Berardinelli and Joe Morgenstein.

Yes, I loved this show growing up. Have to admit I was more partial to Siskel, he really helped shape my tastes, likes, dislikes etc... I absolutely loved their chemistry and totally dug it when they would disagree, picking a movie apart from every angle. Great stuff.

I'd have to say I find my opinions these days are most similar to Rob Sheffield from Rolling Stone. We RARELY disagree.
