Going to have to go public radio geek on you and point out that This American Life is *not* an NPR show, though that's a common misconception since it's carried on a lot of NPR member stations. It's actually a co-production of Public Radio International and Chicago Public Radio.

But it's a fantastic show and there's much we can learn about storytelling from it and Ira -- that's for damn sure.

Nick, it didn't take long for me to get busted on that, did it! You're absolutely right re PRI and CPR. But I couldn't think of a neat way to frame the series without sticking "NPR" in there. That said, I'll update the post to reflect the facts.

Hey Scott -- that's hilarious. I literally started listening to TAL this morning on my ride into work. It's a wonderful show, almost as good as my second NPR show, Fresh Air.

Anyway, for those with the iphone, there's an excellent TAL app that lets you stream millions of hours of past shows. Yet one more overwhelming source of awesome storytelling.
