Shyamalan's Rotten Tomatoes movie ratings plotted on chart (not a pretty picture). My favorites, the first two (Sixth Sense (what a fabulous script), Unbreakable). That downward trajectory is troubling (too much navel-gazing? not enough editing at all stages?). Fabulous cinematographer, maybe he should focus efforts in that area, and leave primary story telling responsibility to someone else.

Video no longer available, but couple of weeks or so ago saw a clip showing making of airbender, showing extras, some filming, etc. Was stunned by how listless and depressing the set was (none of the good energy and mojo you expect to see in the making of great creative work).

I might be the odd one out here, but I think 'Unbreakable' is one my favourite films of all time. 'Sixth Sense' was gimmicky at best. His second one was pure direction and storytelling and to be very frank, he started the reinvention of the superhero genre with that, way before Nolan took it to another level...

What a sad sad story guys. Nothing is worse than seeing an artist losing his voice.

I think it's his best movie. But in my screening, parts of the audience started to catcall and call it "booooring". That movie obviously doesn't appeal to the hoi polloi ^^
