As we've discussed many times on this blog, for years Hollywood's operating ethos has been and still is 'similar but different.' That's largely in terms of concept. In terms of content, the writers still have to deliver something that comes across as 'fresh.' But even there the studios want similar in tone, different in specifics.

As the sage philosopher Bruce Hornsby says, "That's just the way it is. Some things'll never change..."

Reminds me somewhat of 'Road Trip'.

I enjoyed 'The Hangover', so if they have written something as good albeit with the caveat it is as you said Scott 'fresh' then good on them.

Personally, I find it a neat little twist in the concept.

So im pretty sure the spec script "21 shots" that sold a few months back is eerily similar.
