Eric is an incredibly great guy and was kind enough to grant me an email interview a couple months back. When Tripp Stryker filled in for a week on my blog, he wrote a post talking about the new NIGHTMARE. Eric tweeted me (I presume he discovered me when I started following him, which I did following a GITS plug off his Twitter, if I recall correctly) and said "tell Tripp there's an autographed poster in it for him if he likes the movie."
I tweeted back and asked for an email interview, then sent the questions after seeing Elm st. I think I had the answers in less than 18 hours - on the opening weekend of the film! Since I'd seen several AICN reviews at that point, I had a good sense of the controversial points and asked about them. He explained the thinking behind a lot of decisions and later told me the interview was "cathartic."
